Description
Our client is the global leader in the design and manufacture of conveying and seasoning systems for the food industry. They have over 40 years of experience and the best engineers in the industry. They manufacture all their own equipment across our two premises (Gamlingay, Bedfordshire and Biggleswade, Bedfordshire).
They are looking for a mechanical fitter to work as part of a small team assembling, tuning and testing machines before dispatch to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Assembly of machines to drawings using compressed air tools
- Wiring up, running and testing machines – testing is carried out with exposed live panels
- Chemical/electro polishing
- Carry out a range of operations on the lathe (suitable training required)
- Carry out various tasks using handheld power tools including: drilling, grinding, polishing
- Small welding tasks and spot welding
- Dismantling and repair of machinery
- FLT operation (full training provided)
- Any other duties as reasonably required by your line manager
Person specification:
Preferred skills include:
- FLT licence
- Knowledge of how to read engineering drawings
- Basic electrical skills
- Welding
- We’re looking for a well organised and proactive individual with high attention to detail, strong problem solving and time management skills
- Able to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Able to keep their working area tidy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Hours
Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 Friday 08:00 - 16:00
Overtime is available when you have work over 39hrs
