Description

We are seeking a motivated engineer with both electrical and mechanical skills, ready to make a difference and join our client’s team. You will primarily work at customer sites within a 50-mile radius of Bedford, with occasional repairs at Bedford workshop. Report directly to Service Manager who will allocate your daily and weekly schedule.

Our client work across a variety of industries, supplying a wide range of compressed air and gas generation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and install equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic tests to find and fix system issues, using standard tools and techniques.
  • Work alone at customer's sites (after training is completed); larger jobs will require multiple engineers.
  • Build trust with customers through clear communication and providing them solutions to their compressed air needs.
  • Log accurate job reports on a timely basis.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience in a similar technical role with electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Experience in scheduled maintenance, diagnosing breakdowns, and making repairs.
  • Qualifications or training to back-up current experience.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable to ideas and change.

Desirable:

  • The ideal candidate should have some experience in electro-mechanical engineering, a willingness to learn, and an eagerness to develop their skills further.
  • Experience working independently on a wide variety of sites.
  • Relevant qualification(s) in engineering, mechanical, or electrical fields.
  • Experience with using MS software, including Outlook & Office 365, or similar software.
  • Driving licence includes towing a trailer.

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (42.5 hours / week, 08:00-17:00 Mon-Fri)
