Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by handling various tasks related to materials handling, shipping, and receiving. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling of materials.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks for efficient movement of products.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs on warehouse equipment as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to ensure safety and organisation standards are met.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Follow all health and safety regulations while performing tasks.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and heavy lifting practices is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills for inventory management and record keeping are required.
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair is a plus.
- Experience operating forklifts ( Counterbalance).
